Works by George Balanchine, Marie Chouinard, Crystal Pite.This diverse program offers a sweeping look at the development of contemporary ballet vocabulary, featuring the pioneering early work Sérénade by George Balanchine, a recreation of the exquisite 24 Preludes by Chopin by "Queen of the Avant-Garde" Marie Chouinard, and the dynamic Emergence, a new commission by Vancouver’s visionary Crystal Pite.

First on the program list is work by Russian-born George Balanchine. The performance features his pioneering early work Serenade, considered by many to be his masterpiece.
